I think Thiruthakkaththevar is a better poet than Kamban, but I wonder why his Seevaga Cinthamani isn't as famous as Ramavataram. Poor marketing? Or because he espoused Jainism?

I'm ending my #20FictionBooks with a novel by my friend Sureshbabu. It's not getting included in this list just because the author is my friend. This is one of the handful of Tamil novels that write about contemporary politics and caste hierarchy outside Tamil Nadu.

From today (day 14), for the next week, my #20FictionBooks #20BooksChallenge will feature only Indian, mostly regional language books. I had posted only 2 #IndianAuthors before this, both are international best selling authors who write in English.
