Resting our weird arses in Holland Park, admiring enormously fat pigeons, splendid song birds and many cute doggies being walked. Our view isn't amazing, but we are footsore and a bench is a bench!

Stuffing about with source image for complementary colours homework: like this effect on a photo I took of housemate/best mate several decades ago. The purply bits will be red tones to fit the brief. I'm enjoying this version and v much looking forward to painting it :) #art #curtinunifineart

Two copies of the underdrawing transferred and fixed. I'm going to approach one by building up fine layers of dilute paint and the other more robustly. While transferring, I thought the top one was "better" so I'd use it for the dilute layers.. I think I've changed my mind 🤷♀️

Fiddle faddled a bit, as usual, fixed, and I'll charcoal the back to transfer the outlines to two more sheets... and then be brave and add paint! Actually, I think I should rephrase that: have some fun with paint 🙂

Underdrawing finally done. I think I'll impress the shapes onto the second primed paper. I'd beef up the outlines, put the primed faces together and rub to get a mirror image, but unfortunately the homework brief says same composition for each. Boo. #art #painting #CurtinUniFineArt

Some random, amazingly kind member of the public dropped off a 'Thank you' box of spectacular baked goods at WA Wildlife Hospital reception. Yeah, I'm trying to get my weight in control but cannot resist this bunny cupcake!

More week 1 #printmaking homework. I tried additive & subtractive monotype, working from a photo of my late Nanna, Venus Butcher. The subtractive one (darker) looks more like her, but took YONKS & is dull/stiff imo. The additive took about 15 min, looks barely like her but has life. Learning lots!

This literally is me doing a happy autism 🥳 as I discovered at the fairly recent They Might be Giants' Perth gig where, as the entire room including band was, I am 99.999% certain, ASD/AuDHD, my behaviour was utterly accepted as normal. I haz found me tribe!! (Giggling is included, no extra charge!)
