We are quite familiar with this tragedy. “Single-pedestrian crashes” such as this should count against Vision Zero goals. It’s completely unacceptable and preventable.

Both of these are commercial properties (medical/dental office buildings in a TC1 zone), but when we rely on individual property owners to clear snow, we get inconsistent results. Not everyone works to the same standards.

The person who brought it up was mainly discussing E. Huron River Drive and Geddes, and seemed somewhat taken aback, but replied that he hoped Sunset would be brought back.

Mr. McStick-in-the-mud felt that Sunset was a settled issue, and “quite controversial”. It was a bit out of left field.

At the A2R2 Open House at the downtown library the other day, we heard someone mention the Sunset sidewalk possibly coming back. A prominent stick-in-the-mud expressed that he hoped Sunset would not be “re-litigated.”
