I wish real life had an equivalent to that thing I do where I brain-dump everything I want to say in an email and then afterwards scroll to the top to insert the social niceties that I know are supposed to come at the beginning of an interaction.

I adopted Norman to provide myself with an emotional refuge during an extremely challenging family visit 18 month ago. He died a horrific death on Friday from acute respiratory failure, on the eve of the next such visit. This week is gonna be hard.
