Trump is putting pressure on the EU ahead of the Sefcovic - Greer call scheduled later today. At the end of the day, an agreement will be reached, the EU will have to eat the 10% baseline tariffs and the US will have to accept that the EU won't budge on regulatory autonomy.

The market reaction to the mooted 50% tariffs is interesting. I’d assumed that markets would start to discount threatened tariff hikes quite quickly given the on-again/off-again approach so far. But nope. They look to be taking it seriously.
