In order to put to rest “did they actually use it or not”, Guillaume Broche said it a recent Q&A that they tried AI when the tech was new, but they didn’t like it, it felt wrong to them. And they will not be using it in the future.

Pokemon Legends Z-A is unacceptable on a technical level for the most popular franchise on Earth to release in 2025, but god damn did I just lose 8 hours today exploring and buying little outfits for my character. It's in this weird position where I wish I either hate it or love it more.
