#LungCancer survival stats online are often years out of date. More people with stage 4 are now living longer, some having surgery after a good response and a few reaching NED. Outcomes are shifting in a better direction. 💙 #LCSM

#Lungcancer is often found late. Spotting it early can make a big difference.

Be alert to symptoms that don’t go away: cough, breathlessness, fatigue, chest/shoulder/back pain, hoarseness, unexplained weight loss.

Staging shows how far the cancer has spread & helps doctors plan treatment. #LCSM

#Lungcancer is still the UK’s leading cause of cancer death - yet awareness of the symptoms remains too low.

The signs aren’t always what you’d expect or even respiratory.

Listen to your body. Take changes seriously. If something feels off don’t assume it’s nothing - get it checked. #LCSM

I was in my early 40’s when I was diagnosed with lung cancer. This article is the story shared by many women like me.
‘For decades, #lungcancer has been viewed as a disease of older men who smoked. Now, cases among young women are on the rise and doctors are baffled. Could air pollution be behind it?’

A 30-year Delhi study shows how #lungcancer risk is changing: in 1988, 90% of surgical patients were smokers. By 2018, just 50%. Among those under 30, none had smoked. It shows how lung cancer risks are changing. (Economic Times) #AllYouNeedIsLungs #LCSM

🆕 study: People who eat the most ultra-processed foods may have a 40% higher risk of #lungcancer.

🚭 Risk remained even in never-smokers

Need to understand more, but another reason to stope assuming lung cancer is only caused by smoking.

Ages 0-4 are the most important, emotionally & intellectually, in human development.

Yet, in the US, we have a very high rate of childhood poverty and a broken child care system.

Congratulations to New Mexico for leading the way forward for high quality, free child care. Other states must follow.
