Diana is, well, was before Akko started shouting, reading on a bench with one of her dogs next to her. Akko, is sitting in the grass, accompanied by a mutt too, and is speaking to her parents, loudly : “最近ど?うん.うん.” (“Saikin dou? Un. Un.” [“How’s it going ? Uh-uh. Uh-uh.”]) We can’t hear what her parents respond to her. [Panel 4] Diana’s gazing at Akko, smiling to her phone as she gives (what she can only assume to be) news to her parents. “はああぃ、ちよっと-” (“Ha ā ~i, chotto-” [Yeees, just a secooond-]) [Panel 5] The girl smiles, caressing softly her dog as she has lost all interest in the book she’s holding, tenderly staring at her friend, who's going to take a while with her parents-child “how’s it been” talk. “見えるよ!久々!” (“Mieru yo! Hisabisa!” [I see you ! It’s been so long !”]) [Panel 6] Akko is beaming with joy, finally being able to see and talk to her parents after yearning for their presence for the last week, she’s trying to get as much as she can of them from this phone call. [Panel 7] “Dianaって-” (“Diana tte–” [“Diana is–”]) Her parents cut her, Akko is surprised by what they answer to her. [Panel 8] “あ、もう– わかったよ...”(“Ah, mou– Wakatta yo…” [“aaah, fiiine– I got it…”] Frustrated, Akko seems to give up on some answer her parents gave her. Diana definitely heard her name with Akko’s natural accent a moment before, does it have something to do with her ? [Panel 9] Akko turns her head in her direction, this was about her indeed ! And why is she pouting, like she’s in distress but also embarrassed ? [Panel 10] She stops facing her, too self conscious to look at her while transmitting her parents’ word. “Uh, Diana? My parents want to meet you, is that alright ?” she finally asks. [Panel 11] Diana is taken aback by this, too formal, demand. She doesn’t realize she’s gripping her book, flustered as she is. She simply answers “Um– Yes, of course.”

Akko asks “So, we’re going somewhere?” “Yes, I want to take you… somewhere special.” “Ooh is it a surprise?” she excitedly replies. “Hmm, not reall–” [Panel 2] Akko cuts Diana’s answer short. “Don’t tell me! It’s exciting like this!” Akko is beaming with joy and Diana also displays a small smile, as they ride. [Panel 3] Brego raises his head and Akko seeks the approval of Diana “Although… Do you think I’m ready to take him by myself?” [Panel 4] Diana reassures her, looking in her direction with an assured expression “Of course.” [Panel 5] “Besides, he already knows where we’re going, so you don’t have to worry.” They continue trotting down the countryside path. [Panel 6] They enter the nearby woods. Despite being a simple path surrounded by trees, it seems massive compared to them. [Panel 7] We see Diana and Akko venturing further into it from above. “Wow, what is this place? It feels funny.” Diana explains “That’s magic. I wondered if you’d perceive it more, considering you can do it at home.” [Panel 8] Akko reaches her hand for the air around her and tries to process the feeling it gives her. “It’s like… steam after a hot shower, but fresher? Or when you’re completely underwater.” [Panel 9] Diana also gazes in the distance, sharing her melancholic thoughts about it. “To be honest, I wondered if this place would get affected at all by the Tree. And it seems it has…” [Panel 10] Akko stares at her in incredulity. “Why? What’s this place?” [Panel 11] Akko, having ignored the scenery, gets frightened by the sudden appearance of a witch’s face in the bark of a tree and screams. “AH!”

Angst time! This one started as a parallel to the Maddie bed scene where she pushes Caitlyn to act like it's expected of her and Cait can't stand herself so she leaves.

This time, Vi meets her where she is, right in the middle of the storm.

I would advise you to keep your alliance with her from now on, make sure she is close and keep it like that.” Diana still looks at her with an unamused expression. “I’m sorry?” [Panel 8] With a confident smile, she justifies her statement. “I foresee that both you and Miss Kagari will become exceptionally important to the world of magic, which is bound to have a resurgence in the next few years.” [Panel 9] “The world as we know it will change and our position in that political landscape is better than ever!”, getting on Diana’s nerves as she finishes that sentence.

After chipping away at this for months, it's FINALLY done!

Inspired by the scene Amanda and Katie talked about Maddie and Cait at a bar, but what about Vi and Maddie instead. Also, Vi must have seen Cait dance to hallucinate her like that later.

She's surrounded by chattering, Panel 3. A drunken enforcer puts his arm around her while toasting again. "Drink up! One for each Chembaron brought down!" She's looks at him awkwardly but with a slight smile. Panel 4. While everybody else joins in on the celebration, Vi is sitting at the bar, nursing her own drink alone. Panel 5. Vi's eyes widen but then she looks down guiltily and hesitates in her answer "N– W– We're..." Panel 7. "'It's complicated'? Heh, figured." Maddie drinks the rest of her cup. "I guess it's also the timing, eh? After her mother's pass–" Panel 1. Vi slams her glass on the counter with force. "You don't get it." Panel 2. Maddie, startled, tries to explain herself "Hey, don't sweat it! I wasn't gonna do anything, I just wanted to know if she was, y'know– available– but she's not so..." Panel 3. Both of them are looking at the rest of the enforcers celebrating with Caitlyn. The panel frames them from the back. Maddie says after a moment "It's clear you care very much about her." Panel 4. A closer look at Caitlyn dancing with her coworkers, finally allowing herself to let go. Panel 5. Vi's earnest look at Cait as she says, almost to herself "She deserves SO much." Panel 6. An extreme close up to Maddie's eyes, giving Vi a sideview, calculating. "Good thing you're part of the squad, then! Where would she be without you?" Panel 1. Vi stands up quickly after that. Her face is hidden. "I have to go." Panel 2. Maddie watches Vi leave from the same spot we saw Vi before. Panel 3. Vi looks over to Vi's abandoned glass, her drink barely touched. Panel 4. Maddie takes Vi's glass and drinks it with a small smirk.
