Hockey fan and vinyl record collector. A bit of a lurker looking for reasons to reach out more.

I feel that:

1) This is a cool way to display my collection

2) I might need to slow down

My pulse will be quick'ning
With each drop of strych'nine
We feed to a pigeon
It just takes a smidgin
To poison a pigeon in the park

Italian singer Adriano Celentano released a song in the 70s with nonsensical lyrics meant to sound like American English — to prove that Italians would just love any American song.

It was a hit.

Want to promote this to the 16 followers I have, and anyone else that might stumble onto it.

Timely episode on a forgotten artist (Phil Ochs) about a forgotten time in US history (DNC riots). 55 min but worth every minute.

Random "Song of the day"

Before I discovered Exile in Guyville, I was introduced to Liz Phair with her second proper album: Whip-Smart.

Although in hindsight not as defining, it was a good introduction to her style.

Don't tend to have the time or the momentus moment to post, but this is worthy of noting:

My 1500th vinyl record in my collection. Highly recommended lo-fi rock album if you are into it

Random vinyl pickup:

Curiosity purchase to see connection with the name of the band (none save admiration of subject and references in song titles)

Ends up being "enjoyably forgettable". Will be fun to rediscover when I forget what's on it again

I am always "late to the party" when it comes to social media trends. Usually I tend to let them pass, but this one I am going to amend for myself.

#MusicSky for the 12 days of Xmas, I will post on this thread an album a day which influenced my vinyl collection.

the way I see it, there's basically no reason not to move christmas to the end of january. thanksgiving stays where it is, december gets new year's eve, and we get all of january (currently very boring) to look forward to christmas. also I wouldn't have to drive 1000 miles in the span of four weeks
