Here's "I Will Pick the Lovely Blooms," the twenty-third cuicatl in SONGS OF THE LORDS OF ANAHUAC, my English translation of the codex "Romances de los señores de la Nueva España." Includes notes on the homoerotic subtext of the song, mostly missed by straight white translators of the past, heh.

“In life we learn
We grow
We discover
We write
We erase
And write again
We weave
We unravel
And we weave again

The Maya civilization left an imposing legacy across the Yucatán Peninsula and beyond.

Visiting small, less crowded settlements is a true delight, a chance to breathe in the grandeur of this magnificent culture at its peak.

Ok so lets see some of the pages finally! The story starts out in a city called Teko, inspired by the West Mexican Shaft Tomb cultures, with futurist Guachimontones which have become large civic centers. Also as you can see the comic is b/w though I'd love color I would have to hire a colorist lol.
