The remote work debate was funny because it forced the question "Is a job something valuable you do or is it a place you go to be watched like daycare" and the answer for a lot of them was yeah it's the daycare thing now come on inside recess is over

The trademark of a good teacher or a good tech documenter is that, no matter how far away in the experience ladder they are, they naturally remember how it was.
You sharply distinguish what you know from what the student knows, you orderly fill the gaps. Same with docs and helping in forums.

I think about this a lot too. As someone who moved from Higher Ed into a technical job, it's been striking to realize how difficult a lot of very smart people find it to communicate what they know.
It's easy to forget how daunting those early hills are when you're already in the mountains.

I spend a lot of my time thinking about explaining technical topics & when you are explaining a complex topic, trying to explain everything at once is the same as explaining nothing, permanently.
You have to take it one idea at a time or you are going to overload your audience.
