Sub 120? That’s a sub 2 hour HM? I mean that’s about a 5:35 min/km pace the entire way. It sounds like you have the fitness to do it no problem

I know people at both ends— some who insist that their 30 dollar pair of Costco shoes is fine.

And others who run 15 minute miles in their alpha flys

Ultimately they want what they want so I try not to get too triggered

I always check my outputs when writing drafts or make it give me an outline of all my raw data. I never send out ai content unvetted. But the people who trust that it’s 100% every time is troubling

People don’t realize how exhausting it is to be “othered” or to feel like a perpetual foreigner.

Thanks for sharing and sorry about the experience. It’s Traumatizing in its own way!

You’re doing the 200 right?

Eh, I mean it’s good to be shoe agnostic. But once you find a daily trainer that works, then I feel it’s ok to stick to it.

Id be upset only if I was gunning for a BQ or something. I think most people normally run an extra 1/4 or even 1/2 mile anyways from swerving, not running the tangents, etc etc

For most normies I think they’d be just fine

Just tried to run an easy 5k. Still coughing and hacking. Had to call it quits after 2 miles

Oh yeah! Learned lessons:

1) I need to push my long runs to 18+ miles

2) I need to do more strength work. Squats but go really slow on the way down to strengthen the quads

3) I need more experience with downhills. Downhill repeats are a thing

I try to reflect and tweak my training all the time!

I logged in 9:40ish min/miles, all be it for about 3/4 of a mile at a time before my quads acted up again.

So I feel it was a muscular/skeletal bonk rather than an energy one.

I spent basically yesterday and today thinking about how I felt rather than being sad about bonking haha

Yeah good questions! Some things ive been thinking:

1) my longest run in training was 16 miles. Need longer long runs

2) mile 14 to 20 was a steady downhill. Quads got cooked by mile 21. I need to strengthen my quads with eccentric loading.

3) my hr felt fine and even during the death march …

My ego is secure enough to post and talk about my bonks. Time to reflect and adjust my training for the next race
