Personally? I like AlienGear for beginner equipment.
(Boo, hiss - shut up. When you also have a Rubbermaid tote full of random holsters come back and criticize.)

Ladies, there's options - even for folks in yoga pants. Don't just throw that thing in your bag and hope it stays there.
There's a cool company called PHLster... Give em a look.
Or get a Sticky holster and then come back here for that name again.

Sure, half the states say it's fine - but you have to worry about ease of access, reaching for some top-shelf cereal and your shirt coming back down OVER the gun, etc...

Reinforced doors themselves are a little more expensive, but very preferable to the standard.

A simple rearranging of the furniture can be a huge help when it comes to creating a defensive plan for home invasions.
External AND internal aspects should be assessed.

I'm now on v3 of my Pistols 101 - soon with video. Maybe. I have a GoPro for a reason. My problem is not just space to do crap, but then not liking what I record.
Tis a curse.

A lot of others are catching onto this program because it's still relatively new to the scene, but it's proven a simple but effective method.

But do something the right way 50 times builds a single, consolidated bridge which takes less time for the brain to follow.

I then take primed information and rotate that into the subsequent information - think of the interleaving training concept.

So, I've studied his work; if you've done anything USCCA related that entire system is Pincus-Lite.
My gripe with him is he openly hosted a 3D printed gun competition, gave VICE the tools and advice to make their own and then invited every LEO in a tri-state area--

They are well worth the (very low) cost for the information alone. The scenario based modules are also great to provide visuals versus just words.

Especially when it comes to self-defense.
Not only is weed still a felony controlled substance, but at the bare ass minimum it will be evidence against you in a court of law.

I've done it as a social experiment with students on occasion as a quick tip and I'm about 70% correct off the cuff.

A red flag is if they say it's going to take a lot of classes and a lot of money.
Most coursework is in the block method by merit of how the industry is set up.
If they don't do a mesocycle/microcycle approach (think mall dojo training sessions) - run.

A 20$ Plano case and a dollar store padlock solves the trouble of "immediate access by unauthorized persons" but won't prevent theft.

There's a cool concept called #AdultLearningMethod that needs to be understood by anyone looking to provide valuable instruction versus just reading from a PowerPoint slide deck.
How do they adapt to others needs?

Being a contract instructor a while, I can tell you a lot of the big box outlets typically have outfits that cram as many people into a room as possible to maximize profits. (We love Groupon.)
Typically you won't get any real hands-on when it's 30-1 ratio.

Seems silly, but as someone who started dewy-eyed with nothing but an NRA Pistol Cert under his belt, it's a huge red flag if all they've ever done is a simple instructor-in-a-box course.

Flipside, that in of itself is a pretty loaded ask because not every instructor is actually qualified to educate you.
Do some research first.

It's #December - and that means there's a non-zero chance folks are going to become new gun owners by merit of getting #gifted a new gun.
There's a lot that goes into new gun ownership, so stick with me (BS ate my entire draft during a call, so I have to recreate the whole write-up.)
Most folks I see drilling a quarter inch grouping at 15yds all have dots.
Getting a better handle on recoil management is probably the more efficient deal.
I, personally, don't like using them because I don't know them well enough yet.

Speed = good, accuracy = could be better, get somewhere that lets you draw from holster = priceless.

Absolute piss at 15yds; maybe half inside the 5" circle trying to speed run low ready to FSoT (range doesn't allow holster draws.)
Definitely out of practice, but some would consider this "acceptable" because on a torso we still Gucci...
That's unacceptable.
'25 = more live fire.
