I’m at my third space coffee shop where I’m a regular. I ordered a hot chocolate which is not my regular order. My barista friend asked me if I was sick becuse I got something different than my usual iced tea. It’s a good feeling to be known, even in a small way.

Mistakes I made at my youth council meeting:
1) I said, “5, 6, 7, 8”. That caused a lot of giggles.
2) we went on a tangent about Richard Simmons
Things that went right at my youth council meeting:
1) the teens are amazing students and are very funny
2) they wanted to watch Kpop demon hunters

I know this might be a silly thing, but I’m at my nephews’ high school band competition and whenever a rival band walks by, the entire band starts cheering for them and giving them affirmations. It’s really sweet. 🥹

Prayers would be helpful! Just got off of a constituent collation call to go over an agenda for a meeting tomorrow w/ our senator’s staffers. We are advocating for Catholic Relief Services and continued funding of their lifesaving programs that are in jeopardy of being cut in this rescissions bill.

To get my middle school age nephews to talk to me, I asked, “besides cyber trucks what other dumb things have you seen this week?” (It’s a good conversation topic). One of them said, “cyber trucks aren’t dumb, they are trash,” and then proceeded to talk about how their classmates fell on ice.

I have absolutely no emotional connection to Wicked other than listening to the soundtrack back in high school, so tell me why when I just listened to “Not that Girl” for the first time in about 10 years, did I ball my eyes out and feel like the insecure teenager I was back then?

Do you ever get talking about something so passionately that you don’t realize you have talked for an hour and a half and when you finally realize it and the other people have to go you have to fight your inner demons so that you don’t talk for 30 more minutes doing a midwestern good bye?
