Every year, we also do a 'GameLog' to build the habit of playing with an analytical mindset. Any recommendations for this year's games?

Every year, we explore a lot of different things, including (but not limited to):
- Playing in class when discussing Bernie De Koven
- Designing games that challenge Huizinga’s Magic Circle
- Building microgames with Bitsy
- Analyzing both classic and modern video games

...ended up making the whole unit movement like if units were pieces.

Space occupied, needed to combine with particular materials, dragging mechanics to draw lines, etc.

In the end the mechanic is supporting (hopefully, I mean😅) the innovative thingy.

This is just what worksled for us, though.

Yep. For instance, in Cataclismo we started with regular troop movement. The innovation focus was on the Lego fortress building.

Then, we thought about making the unit movement snap to tiles to better fit the piece grid, so it connected properly in the prepare defenses loop. It was nice, so we...
