Outrageous. Britain is being sued in a corporate court, for stopping the Cumbria coal mine.

We’ve been saying for years that this system of corporate courts (ISDS) is an obstacle to climate action and democratic politics. Now it couldn’t be clearer

7/ The take away is that that we'll see climate impacts sooner than previously predicted.

We therefore need to redouble efforts to phaseout fossil fuels, whilst at the same time investing in adaptation

We must avoid a doom-loop where the impacts of climate chaos derail our ability to cut emissions

Abstract. The consequences of climate change, nature loss, and other changes to the Earth system will impact societies' ability to tackle the causes of these problems. There are extensive agendas of s...

6/ Scientists aren't entirely sure whats causing the acceleration. But it's related to a decline in the planets reflectivity.

A leading explanation is that clouds are shifting pole-wards. This "constitutes the largest contribution to the observed 21st century trend of increased solar absorption"
Contraction of the World's Storm‐Cloud Zones the Primary Contributor to the 21st Century Increase in the Earth's Sunlight Absorption
Satellite observations show that in the past 24 years the worlds storm cloud zones have been contracting at a rate of 1.5%–3% per decade This contraction allows more solar radiation to reach the ...

3/ Scientists now believe this rules out lower #climate sensitivity estimates

Which "means that increasing concentrations of atmospheric greenhouse gases likely will cause even more warming than most current models predict."

Our carbon budgets are smaller. Meeting the Paris goals is harder.
Observed trend in Earth energy imbalance may provide a constraint for low climate sensitivity models
Climate forcings by greenhouse gases and aerosols cause an imbalance at the top of the atmosphere between the net incoming solar radiation and outgoing longwave radiation from Earth. This Earth energy...

In Forbes talking about how we need to start properly taxing wealth. It would pay for a lot of stuff we need. But it’s good in itself because a tiny % of people have far too much. & they have it because of massive exploitation of people and the planet.

The UK Movement To Tax Extreme Wealth Instead Of Defunding Foreign Aid
“We should be taxing the richest, not taking money from the poorest, if you’re going to do this.” This would be a tax of 2% on wealth above £10 million.
