Discussing video games.
The Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (new Capcom game) demo was more fun than I expected. The demo is up on PS, Xbox, and Steam.

Kinda bummed it's not getting a physical release though.

Wasn't even looking for her yet but managed to stumble upon the Sphinx!

Dragon's Dogma 2 (PS5). My Arisen (left) and main pawn (right).

Loving the game so far!

The Dragon's Dogma 2 character creator is fantastic. Glad they released it two weeks before the full game. Now I can spend way too long making my Arisen and Pawn!

Went from a Fumito Ueda game to a Hideo Kojima game. Like a rain drop of story followed by a monsoon of story!

I'm a fan of both but playing them back to back really highlights their different styles.

Tomorrow. Going in with no expectations (pretty much set for the year with games already) so anything cool will feel extra nice!

Sega of America didn't do a physical release of "Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name" in the west for some reason.

Thankfully it was easy to snag and region free gaming is wonderful (and the game + shipping was a bit less than the digital copy so even better).

Looking at the 2024 game releases (with confirmed dates) and was surprised to find only 2 games I'm planning to get so far this year?!

Last year this time there were triple that. Not complaining. Both games look to be large in scale and it gives me time to catch up/replay stuff. Year of the dragons

Along with several high-profile games, 2023 had so many remakes, remasters, and re-releases.

These are my favorite games released this year (still have two more I want to play, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Like A Dragon Gaiden:TMWEHN but they'll have to wait til later) in no particular order.

Having a chat with Lucky (Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Switch).

I've played my Switch more in the last 3 weeks than the rest of the year but apparently the "year end wrap-up" cut off before then. So the data feels incomplete.

Either way Super Mario RPG has been my favorite thing on it this year (still looking forward to checking out Super Mario Wonder).

Watching #TheGameAwards is basically akin to watching the Super Bowl for the ads, but what if the football part was also ads.

Reminder: PS+ is currently on sale. So get a year for the former price (roughly 60 bucks which was already high, it was free on PS3) and not the new extra inflated we added nothing of value price lol (80? Nah man). The other tiers are also on sale. That price hike was BS, kinda salty about it.

Super Mario RPG (remake) is actually out today! Here's some of my fan art from the game from over the years. All art by me.

Maybe you didn't know if you've only played Metal Gear 2 on the modern re-releases, but in the original game, all the character portraits are shamelessly based off real-life people. Here are some of them:

Sean Connery, Tom Berenger (Platoon), Albert Einstein, Richard Crenna (Rambo).

It's that time of year again. Where marketable hype and corporate advertising come together to make a show sort of about games. Reminder, it is far from the be all and end all of GOTY lists. It's one of many, it's just the one with the most commercials. Read lots of lists, make your own, enjoy games

For a game where fast travel is arguably not the highest priority (due to traversal being a primary game focus) Spider-Man 2's fast travel system is crazy precise (zoom in on the map and pretty much pick a street or intersection) and blazingly fast! I was quite surprised.

The screenwriter announced for the Zelda movie sure has a mixed bag of a filmography.

Either way kind of bummed it's not going to be animated considering the amount of vfx it will probably use.

Got a funky hat glitch in Spider-Man 2. Sadly it only lasted a few minutes (even sadder there's not the green and black Big Time suit in 2, rocked it hard in 1).

Only about 4-5 games released/releasing this year I wanna get through before I figure out my end of the year list. Starting one tonight.

New PS5 system update adds low frequency sound to attract spiders to Playstation 5 systems. Sony hopes the influx of live spiders to people's gaming spaces will remind Playstation owners to purchase Marvel's Spider-Man 2, available now exclusively on the Playstation 5. 🥸

Like a Dragon 7 (Yakuza: Like a Dragon) had a full on Mario Kart side story in it.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (LAD8) is going full Animal Crossing side story!
