Meeja hor, comics obsessive, sometime idiot. Old.
I’ve not been on Twitter for months, and I’m not going to look now, so I’m just going to assume a lot of people there are absolutely losing their shit over this.

Am sure I remember reading something about the making of Yellowbeard, that mentioned he smoked about 60 a day.

And if prominent Democrats are also in the files…. yup, they can all get hurled into the sun as well.

My first encounter with Dan Dare was the 70’s 2000AD reboot, which is vastly different to the original (and which, admittedly, eventually became increasingly dumb) but I still love it.

True, but the point is more that people forget/wipe some monumentally shitty parts of their own lifetime.

“Environment was cleaner”.

Ok, photo from 1978, not ‘75 but I think we’re splitting hairs there.

Absolutely. I was 5 in 1975, so my memories of it are wallowing in nothing more than childhood nostalgia.

I certainly didn’t notice negative things at the time - like my mum in tears because we’d run out of toothpaste too late in the month and it was too expensive to get more until payday.

And in amongst all that, if you sift through like you’re panning for gold, there’s A Gentleman In Moscow, which I absolutely loved (and, again, was left thinking it should have been a BBC drama but, y’know, budgets).

Conversely, if you want Indian restaurant lime pickle at home, Fudco brand Lime & Chilli pickle is exactly what you’re looking for

Why does he have this fucking anti-beard obsession?
November 12, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Same energy.

It was so simple in the old days where the Republic serial hero was very, very definitely in the car as it sped over the cliff, only for the next episode to open with him jumping out in time and an empty car hurtles into oblivion.

Old fashioned? Day Of The Jackal on Sky absolutely did this. Twice.

Are these people

A) racist and very stupid

or

B) racist, not stupid, are fully aware *none of this will ever happen* and are just lying grifters trying to foment hatred and violence from A)
November 5, 2025 at 7:36 PM
So… Republican who then votes for the ex-Democrat instead of the *actual* Republican candidate is blaming the *actual* Republican candidate of betrayal?

The ‘aunties’ line was a perfect jab with a surgical needle.

Pretty sure that’s AI based on the drunk-at-the-time prompt of ‘create a football stadium based on The Avengers Tower’.

Oh ffs, not again.

“When you're alone and life is making you lonely

You can always go… uptoown”
October 24, 2025 at 4:54 PM
If nothing else, the ideas for how to use it are so very shit.
October 14, 2025 at 6:52 PM
Also, comics. I love comics, I have an awful lot of them. But people who get comics slabbed - graded and then locked forever in a plastic case - drive me nuts. Something made to be read (and re-read) now unable to fulfill its very purpose.

Is this really classifying ICE as an ‘emergency service’?
October 13, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Yes, absolutely. There are large parts of Sandman I’ll never be able to read again - Calliope in particular. Maybe that means I’ll never read any of it again. I certainly haven’t picked it up since the accusations or his indefensible reaction to them.
