I’ve been watching a lot of reaction videos of “Clue” lately, and now my inner monologue while selecting a doughnut is voiced by super campy Tim Curry, “would you like chocolate? Perhaps raspberry, or lemon?Bourbon caramel. Strawberry. Or Cinnamon Roll?”

Not actually celebrating until Friendsgiving on Saturday, but I decided to do a trial run turkey breast. So far so good.

🎶 It was a strawberry croissant. The kind you’d find at the Bamboo Donuts 🎶

I was going to make French Toast for breakfast, but I kept tweaking it, and it turned into a Spiced Mocha Bread Pudding with a Pecan Crumble Topping.

I think the real Kobayashi Maru we’ve got here is almost everyone in the US line of succession is involved in this or would somehow be WORSE (which is another problem in and of itself).

I wasn’t sure what to make for dinner, so I just made a Black Chocolate Yogurt Cake with Chocolate Peppermint Glaze. Working theory is it will be like an Andes Mint in cake form.

Decided to try out a different pan for my Dutch Baby Pancake this morning. I think it worked.

Yeah! The literally shiny new board game that I funded on Kickstarter last year arrived! Time to do some space homesteading.

I don’t do Halloween or costumes, but I do enjoy creating an extremely niche imaginary costume each year. This year is “puppet that sings about blood cancer in the national bone marrow registry PSA.”

30-50 crows just appeared in front of my house without warning. Honestly, this is the preferred way to be murdered.

They’re about the size of green lentils or peas but taste a little more like a kidney bean or a green bean. I most often see them in their sprouted form on top of Thai food. There’s a solid chance you’ve had them and just didn’t know.

And this is why we love Chewed Up… they do a great job of capturing the “hanging out in the kitchen with your friends” vibe.

So, I may have gone a little overboard with my Crust & Crumb order this morning. However, sometimes you just need several little a pastry as a treat. #treatyoself #freefeetpics

I was looking for something else in my photos and came across this picture of me from 10 years ago. I wish I could tell him so many things, but I also know he wouldn’t listen to me.

Decided to make a potato crusted quiche for breakfast, but I forgot they have to cool for a long time to set.

Picked up some focaccia at the farmers’ market down the street that I have ignored for 10+ years for no good reason. Also got some tabbouleh, hummus, and labneh at the new middle eastern grocery across the street. Eating local is eating well.

My favorite find this year is these cold brew coffee bags. 40g of course ground coffee, put in bag, put in deli container of filtered water, put on lid (VERY important before next step), shake whenever you walk by for the rest of the day, drink in the morning. They’re compostable too (supposedly).

Thaddeus has made his return to my lock screen, ready to face the coming of autumn. (I just found this picture online YEARS ago. No idea if this cat is even real, or where he would have gotten this jacket.)
