Waterbury, Vermont Shaw's Supermarket this afternoon. So maybe with Avian Flu spreading it’s not a good idea to stop government agencies from communicating with each other? At least maybe if you ran on fixing the cost of eggs problem? And you know, maybe it’s spreading to cows and humans?

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and public services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend any money is so important to so many people

This brings up another point: you don't have to run for larger office like state houses & even school boards. Serving on these smaller agency boards, applying for citizen seats on legislative councils, seeking parole board appts etc—all these roles combined build the scaffolding for systemic change.
A public defender ousted a 25-year incumbent in September, in the Massachusetts Dem primary for a seat on a critical but little-known body that confirms judicial nominees.

I talked to her on how she wants to use the seat to overhaul the judiciary & change mindsets on incarceration.
The Public Defender Who Just Won Power Over Confirming Massachusetts Judges
Mara Dolan ousted a 25-year incumbent to become the first public defender to join the Massachusetts governor’s council, which she calls the “gateway to the entire judicial branch.”

You may think firing federal employees is a DC problem but the person who delivers your mail is a federal employee. 85% of federal employees live outside the DC metro. In many places, they are around 10% or more of the local workforce. #giftlink

See where federal workers live in the U.S.
As a government shutdown looms, see where U.S. federal employees live. Only 15 percent of the 2.19 million federal employees work in the Washington metro area.
