Haha, Norwegian definitely has that advantage, lots of English-similar words! And don’t worry too much about Bokmål vs. spoken; once you’re here, you’ll pick up the spoken forms quickly. Good luck, and keep it up!

Oh yes, the vowels can definitely be tricky! And don’t even get me started on “k”—it can sound totally different depending on context (“kjole” vs “katt”). Keeps things interesting, at least! But English pronunciation is actually much, much harder!

The first few seasons do look pretty old now, but then it suddenly looks a lot more modern. I guess it reflects how the 80’s and early 90’s in general looked quite different to the millennium, while anything after is pretty similar to today.

Interesting combo! What made you choose these particular languages?
April 7, 2025 at 6:21 AM
I totally get why you’re feeling this way. It’s really tough when things feel out of control.
April 6, 2025 at 4:02 PM
That’s a great approach! Immersion really helps you internalize the language. Those extra minutes spent figuring out the context now will definitely pay off later. I think that kind of struggle can be really powerful. Keep up the good work!

Hope you make it happen. Life really is too short not to chase good things.
