💬 Meeting people and sparking conversations

Let’s connect, share ideas, and inspire one another!
Just downloaded Unified Remote and I’m blown away. Laptop’s propped up on the treadmill. Phone in hand. I use touch on phone to control the mouse and type with the keyboard, or even use voice. A game changer for treadmill coding.

The Signal group chat with your wife and brother was supposed to be for memes and ‘on my way’ texts, not military ops, Pete.

Games have rules. Stories have structure. Even chores get better when I turn them into a challenge.

The constraint is the playground.

Last day of school before Easter break, and it turned into a feast! The students brought amazing dishes from their home countries, and we all ate way too much. Such a warm, joyful end to the week. Grateful for these moments. God påske, alle sammen!

Love waking up to thick fog. It sets the perfect atmosphere, like the world’s still loading. Ideal conditions for the main character to begin his morning quest.

Learning French has really encouraged me to live in the moment because I currently cannot conjugate any other
verb tense.

Told my adult language students on April Fools’ that a camera crew was coming to film a TV series about them. Some of them actually believed me. Should I feel guilty… or just proud of my acting skills?

Renovating the facade of our house this spring—finally getting it done! We’re also adding extra insulation while we’re at it, so fingers crossed for a warmer winter and lower power bills. Maybe even cooler summers?

Late-night waffle party with my wife sounded fun until we realized sleep tastes better than waffles. Going to bed now!

We are sending people for indefinite detention without trial at a foreign gulag because they have tattoos about soccer teams and about loving their mothers.
I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

Spring is officially here! Sunshine’s out, birds are singing, and yep, that means it’s garage-cleaning season. Time to rediscover treasures, toss out mysteries, and pretend I’m not emotionally attached to random junk.

I used to dream about owning a Tesla, but Elon Musk has me pumping the brakes. Tesla sales has dropped 48% in Norway, and apparently 2/3 of Norwegians now feel negative about the brand.

And trust that guy to implant a Neuralink chip in my brain? I’d sooner let a cat do brain surgery. Hard pass.

Amid a day packed with chores, I took five minutes to pause and meditate on the far future. A moment to zoom out, past the to-do lists and daily grind, and imagine what life—my own and humanity’s—could look like in centuries to come. It’s funny how a brief pause can make everything feel different.

Even though I live fairly far south in Norway, we still get plenty of northern lights. Unfortunately, the light pollution in my neighborhood makes them almost impossible to see. My colleague, on the other hand, runs up the nearest mountain every time they appear to get a better view!

This could be the best day ever.

The sun is shining, my coffee is strong, my back feels fine, and the WiFi is holding steady.

All the ingredients are here. The only thing standing in the way? Me.

So, I hereby declare: Today will be amazing. (Unless I get hit by a bus. Then all bets are off.)

Took my class for a walk in the first spring sunshine today, breaking up the monotony of a long day of lessons. They came back refreshed and ready for another round of learning. A little movement, light, and air can do wonders. Don’t underestimate the power of stepping away from the desk!

Had a shorter night—maybe an hour less sleep—and wow, it’s crazy how noticeable it is when you’re used to being fully rested. Like operating at 85% instead of 100%. Makes me realize even more how vital consistent sleep is. Sleep really is a superpower!

My students love learning Norwegian swear words, and I gotta admit—classes like that are hilarious. The second we start, everyone’s suddenly 100% engaged, perfecting their pronunciation like it’s life or death. Honestly, if language classes were always this fun, we’d all be fluent by now.

Woke up to classic Western Norway weather—crazy wind and endless rain. Heard some areas nearby lost their roads entirely. Hope everyone out there stays safe and dry today!

From over here in Europe, watching the tension between Trump and Zelensky unfold makes me appreciate the power of unity even more. If anything, this shows how crucial it is for Europe to strengthen its bonds.

Went to the skin doctor yesterday for a full-body mole check. Thankfully, nothing scary to report. But I learned that at my age, skin cancer can progress in just 3-6 months.

I used to think airing out the house was always a good idea—let some crisp, “fresh” air in, get the stale air out. But after getting an air quality monitor, I started noticing something surprising.

At the doctor’s office for my yearly health check-up. Just making sure everything’s running smoothly under the hood. Hoping for good numbers across the board—always aiming to optimize. Let’s see what the data says! #Longevity
