Goodbye to Diane Keaton. You were great in the first two Godfather films; two landmark films in a long and storied career. RIP.

Finally got around to watching The Sopranos after all this time.

On a completely different note entirely, just going to leave this here:

@artofcoop.bsky.social posted about turning a friend on to 70's movies, so here's a clip from 1973's "The Friends of Eddie Coyle", starring Robert Mitchum as a low-level Boston crook. A wonderful slow burn of a movie. It's free on YouTube as well, so no excuse not to watch it.

Alhough it was overshadowed by, well, *gestures at the world in general*, we lost Polly Holliday this week. She had a varied career, but to a lot of us, she'll always be Flo from the sitcom "Alice". That show was perpetually in syndication and was a big part of the background of my youth. RIP.

I think everyone can use a palate cleanser today, so here's Martin Short as Jerry Lewis singing Bob Dylan on SCTV.

"If we'd played the full game, we probably woulda lost by 100 goals. I dunno why I'm saying 'we', I wasn't out there runnin' around like it was the first time I ever used my legs."

People say Archer or Bob Belcher, but IMHO Coach McGuirk from "Home Movies" is H. Jon Benjamin's best character ever.

For no particular reason, posting a song that was the first Hüsker Dü song I ever heard (and first anything by @bobmouldmusic.bsky.social I'd ever heard, as well). A friend included it on a mix tape of punk rock songs he gave me back in the early 1990s. Haven't been the same ever since.

In the 90s, my musical horizons got expanded by a lot of different bands, including the UK's Fudge Tunnel. My friends couldn't stand them; neither could the UK music press (Melody Maker likened their sound to "a toolbox falling down a flight of stairs"). But I liked 'em. Here's one of their tunes.

Years ago I got given a hardcover collection of the Johnny Nemo comics, by Peter Milligan and Brett Ewins. I was familiar with Ewins from 2000AD also, along with the Skreemer graphic novel he and Milligan did for DC. I haven't kept up with comics news for quite a while, so I decided to look him up.

Been checking out some underrated movies I hadn't seen before, like the 1973 crime drama The Friends of Eddie Coyle. Slow burn, hardly any violence, but the film is teeming with quiet menace. One of Robert Mitchum's finest performances, with an excellent supporting cast. Here's a clip.

Another FDM Ork done (though obviously in need of some stringing cleanup). This one's a "burna boy" from Blue Sky Minis. I like this one because he's pausing to light up a smoke, either before or after causing some mayhem.

Continuing on with my adventures in FDM printing miniatures: I may have printed out a couple of orks (again, both from DakkaDakka Store on MMF). I may or may not also have a third one going on the FDM printer behind me...

Randomly heard this over the radio, used Google to search by audio, found a new favorite band: Khruangbin. I love me some heavy music, to be sure, but I also like strange/weird/unusual stuff, too. This sounds like it came from an unknown 60s Eurospy film, so naturally it piqued my interest.

I used to have a tshirt with the same design as the one in that drawing, back in the early 90s when I lived in the UK. As a young metalhead, I just thought it was a cool shirt, but now I suspect I've just discovered where it originally came from...
