As a 90s teen, this hit me HARD

I picked up these pink & purple simple carnations last week. The blooms start bright pink, then the edges fade to dusty purple until only the center still has a hint of pink. Watching them age has been wonderful. I can hardly wait for daffodils!

Took myself to an art museum today. I was happily reminded what women are capable of when their community is at risk.
Gentileschi's "Judith and her Maidservant with the head of Holofornes." Painted in rich primary color with great detail, the women look into the darkness hoping not to be discovered as they carry his head in a basket filled with rags. Judith still holds his sword, still with his blood on it.

Y'ALL. I love reading 19th century novels, but sometimes they get spicier than intended. Three books into Dumas' Musketeers, the PEARLS I CLUTCHED when I stumbled into THIS:
Aramis began to laugh. 'Still Agreeable, still young, still gay,' said he. 'You have come into my diocese to set me quarreling with divine grace.' Bah!' 'And you know well that I was never able to resist your seductions; you will cost me my salvation, D'Artagnan.' D'Artagnan bit his lips. 'Well,' said he, 'I will take the sin on my own head, favor me with one simple Christian sign of the cross, favor me one pater, and we will depart.' 'Hush!' said Aramis, 'we are already no longer alone, I hear visitors coming up.' 'Well, dismiss them.'
