World Expos are more than just showcases of innovation. They are...

We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

A 2023 edited volume that deals with a critical introduction to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. Ed Chad Diehl writes that this volume engages w the shadow of a traumatic past.
There is much to dip into in this book and it will encourage new discussion. It includes my own bio on Ozaki Tomei. 🗃️#ナガサキ

I’ve been in a very not so good headspace since a person very close to me got hospitalized. Today, we finally received a treatment plan, and although things will take their time, it feels like there's finally a small light at the end of the tunnel.

What strikes me about the hbomberguy vid (besides the fact that he dresses like the survivor of a nuclear apocalypse, what’s up with that) is how easy it is to rip off academics. A lot of these people have spent decades writing in obscurity and created a goldmine of analyses anyone can rip off

Well, I certainly didn't anticipate the year ending with Somertons plagiarism finally out and about but here we are. On a more serious note, it's really disheartening to see talented authors and researchers caught up in this mess…

Great idea to upgrade pedestrian paths, especially at night! Hope we see more of such concepts in the future.
Seoul has its own version of the High Line. In 2017 they converted this highway overpass into Seoullo 7017, a pedestrian bridge/path to its main train station. It’s lined with art installations. Even the roundabout car ramp for the former parking garage has been converted into an open air gallery.
