Well, not only has my day job not paid me in over a calendar month, they’re also expecting me to be the singular employee on staff, both back and front of house, for a full service sit down restaurant that also does online orders. So I might need to quit before lining something else up.

I think it’s very funny to imagine Gordon Freeman’s abilities being diegetic and him canonically being an extremely neurotic nerd-jock hybrid. Just a weird hyperactive guy who was in a gun club and a wilderness survival club and also a semi-professional marathon runner while doing his PhD

I think the one thing hades 2 does really well is make you feel accomplished for getting better no matter how "good" at games you actually are. every time you progress feels like a real achievement, and the game goes out of its way to make you feel good about it. it makes you want to keep playing

NYT and other media outlets treating Dick Cheney like he was a “regular” politician and not a war criminal is the most egregious sign lately that they think everyone is stupid. They think you’re stupid and that you have the attention span of a goldfish. And that should make you mad!

My hot take is that every adaptation of HDM fails because they all rely on CGI too much. The whole thing should be much lower tech. All the daemons should be puppets and Iorek Byrnison should be the worlds most expensive animatronic, designed by people who mostly work on horror films
Watching the HBO adaptation of his dark materials and was already feeling pretty mixed about it and then Lin-Manuel Miranda shows up doing a fake Texan accent. Not sure if I have the stomach for this

To be fair like half the time in big cities like Tokyo the people who are working retail and service jobs are immigrants who are also speaking Japanese as a second language. I think that bears mentioning
