Happy new years, consider a traditional gift for family and loved ones (a dual-LP of a donkey woman braying on for an hour)
Only ~40 of these left! I hope you consider picking one up and my sincere thanks to those of you that already have!

Maybe the best thing I drew this year. Not indicative of current feelings.

Put out Framemaker

Put out a record with my band

Played my first live shows

Got radio play

Went to my first con in a decade

Deepened my friendships

Worked on being more charitable, patient, and less self-defeating

Changed a diaper

Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

Finally got a chance to listen to @junelalonde.bsky.social ‘s new album. Had a good cry, called my mom and told her I loved her (she was very confused but pleased)

10/10 I love art that makes me cry

Currently my favorite genre of art looks the way a Gigi Perez song sounds.

I'm ~23k words into writing my first novel. It's daunting, scary work. Lots of self-doubt, lots of second guessing. But there's also been a lot of discovery! Learning how to use outlines, doing research, being a better reader - so on.

Today, with the windchill struggling to reach 0°F at times, thousands marched down Lake Street in South Minneapolis protesting the actions of ICE.

“ICE Out of Minnesota!”
"MINNESOTANS KNOW ICE IS SLIPPERY AND DANGEROUS - IT'S TIME TO DE-ICE!"
"Immigrants are not the problem"

If you're not trans, I don't think I can fully explain how important this is.

It's so powerful that one of the most circulated science media publications in the world has come out and said "trans children are real and providing transition care improves their lives." That's groundbreaking.
The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.
