WTF is going on here at Blue Sky? People are civil to each other. People having intelligent discussions. People are spelling things correctly. I haven’t seen any racism or sexism.

I’m confused.

at present, there are no atproto appviews that directly compete with bsky.app

bsky.app is (at present) simultaneously no-cost, and good. it's hard to compete with that! (there's little motivation to)

if bsky.app becomes less-good or less-free, I think/hope we'll see healthy competition crop up

Sorry to share a tweet, but this is from a friend who is not on BlueSky and got turned away from voting today for seemingly spurious reasons.

If you have a problem with voting like this call 866-OUR-VOTE to get help, they’re open 9am-11:59pm ET on weekdays, 10am to 9pm ET on weekends.

To go one further here, voting is important but feels futile, so you could balance that necessary but slightly maddening act of casting a ballot by saying “Fuck you Jeff Bezos” and cancelling Prime, which is it’s own kind of vote.
You can cancel your Post subscription, but you could also cancel your Amazon Prime
