I read & learn from Anarchists, Socialists, Communists, anarcho-syndicalists, pan-Africanists, & other unaffiliated thinkers, but I don't claim an ideology bc I think what we need going forward should be fluid & modern. I worry that some are more adherent to what they've read than what they see.

Police do not prevent crime. Strong communities with access to opportunities and social programs that help people stabilize their lives prevent crime. It’s about time Portland leaders started having these conversations!!!
Multiple surveys showed that, if they had to choose, Portlanders would cut Police to save Parks.
There are multiple councilors (myself included) proposing cuts to the police budget increase to reallocate back to community programming (Parks, rental assistance, etc)
