The last person to use an iron lung died in March of this year. Contracted polio in 1952 at 6 and lived until 2024. Is our collective memory really that short? Can’t we get at least a generation past the last survivor before forgetting history?
I've seen a child with tetanus, I've treated near fatal infections after chicken pox, and I've pronounced children dead from COVID whose parents refused to have them vaccinated.
