I can tell Bluesky definitely has the juice when it's finally big enough that I can have someone with no IT experience argue with me about my area of expertise, get super mad, then send me a DM so unhinged that I know it's meant to be an scathing insult but I have genuinely no idea what it means.

My favorite I've-never-been-able-to-verify-it-but-I-really-hope -it's-true fact about Mongolian and related scripts is that are written top-down not only in analogy to Chinese characters but also because their ancestor Syriqc script was also commonly written top-down after which the page was turned
How decolonization looks in real life:
From 2025, all Mongolian government bodies will transition to the use of Mongol script alongside the current cyrillic, which has been "introduced" (read:imposed) in 1940s.
