There is no reason for Senate demand to cave, they were winning the battle. There may be one flickering benefit from the bill passing with added amendments. The house will have to VOTE on them for the shutdown to end. Which means little Mikie J will have to seat the new house member from AZ.

It only takes one Republican with a set of balls to enter a Motion to Vacate the Speaker of the House and kick Mikie to the curb, but that can't happen either when the House is not in session. So his refusal to open the House has two purposes, both to save two idiots from being kicked out of office.

I work in accounting at a non-profit nursing home. Most of our residents are on Medicaid.
They just brought up $175 in cash that they'd collected and asked if we could arrange to donate it to our local food bank.
