💯% Personally, I hate the phrase,
“Animals are friends, not food”. It’s such a vacuous, patronising, empty cliche. It’s embarrassing. An individual who is subjected violent oppression doesn’t need to be a friend or in any way instrumental to me before I’m willing to fight for them.

I feel the same way. Our moral duty towards others must be based on justice, regardless of how we may feel about the victim.
