Seen here, the stalk has two sections, the first olive green ending in a white ring, the second green and brown with a thin yellowish line at the joint. Then comes the working apparatus; a conical projection, ringed, blue-green fading to olive green, ending in a hairy spike. Below that, the "flag" a clump of fine, sensitive hairs; these vary in colour with the light, often looking like a candle flame. And below that, again, another dotted-line spike. What information the hermit receives from all this, we're only beginning to discover. On either side of the antennules are the eyes, these (the light changes the apparent colour) on green stalks with touches of blue; the eyes have two dark stripes; here the main colour looks yellow. This is an older hermit, and it's a long time since the last molt; the cephalothorax is cluttered wtih diatom fuzz and bits of sand.

a courting pair of female Terminonatator bond by cooperating in processing their latest kill. they rip into the juvenile mosasaur with their large teeth, ripping it apart by holding on to either end and pulling away with their muscular necks and flippers. the dappled light of the surface can be seen behind them Terminonatator is an extremely pin headed elasmosaur, long necked marine reptiles with four powerful flippers that they used to propel themselves through the water. Terminonatator had a very long neck and was most likely macropredatory based on the size of its teeth a mated pair of female Coelurus travel through an area of open scrubland, one of the females has found a particularly interesting stick that she shows to her mate. Coelurus is a small theropod dinosaur that has had a complicated history of study with many species being described and then split from the genus, it had a long neck and tail and most likely hunted small mammals and reptiles, maybe birds and amphibians a mated pair of male Apatosaurus greet each other with a nuzzle Apatosaurus is a kind of sauropod (typically long necked and usually large quadrupedal reptiles) and specifically an apatosaurine (a group of sauropods that were very robust with shorter necks than other sauropods). Apatosaurus had the thickest neck of the group and it's speculated that they would've used them to fight somewhat like the way giraffes do a pair of female Camptorhynchus labradorius (labrador ducks) mate in open water Labrador ducks are an extinct genus of duck closely related to the still living Steller's eider, they were presumed extinct in 1878. Their bills are large and robust as they fed on small hard-shelled animals living in the sediment. they most likely used their soft beaks to probe the bottom of coastal waters for molluscs and crustaceans, it was noted by fishermen that labrador ducks were sometimes caught on fishing lines baited with mussels

PRESS hossam_shbat 4h This is Hossam's team, and we are sharing his final message : "If you're reading this, it means I have been killed -most likely targeted-by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old-a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents -anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people's side. By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest-something I haven't known in the past 18 months. I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. This was Hossam's last post on Instagram. Demanding accountability for Israel's attacks.
Instagram reel from Hossam Shabat: On October 17th, 2023, Israel bombed Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Everyone was shocked! Governments were outraged and demanded investigations. Israel denied it. Western media believed it. And the bombing continued as 'Israel investigated itself.' UN and NGO investigations proved that Israel indeed did it. No government acted. No condemnations. So Israel continued bombing, besieging and targeting EVERY SINGLE HOSPITAL in Gaza. They still denied it as Wester governments rushed to excuse it. But Israel feels emboldened now. Eighteen months of genocide and impunity meant that they didn't have to deny bombing hospitals anymore. No one cares... They say the magic H word and war crimes are justified. They killed Patients today in the hospital including children and unarmed men.
