This was my best photo of the night (Park Shinwon never disappoints on guitar💜), and you can barely see Jin! It really was all about being there singing along in the moment.

Hobi for W Korea, standing in front of a bigass tapestry and fondling a rapier. His coat is luscious: double breasted, knee length, 80s businesswoman shoulderpads, a plaid so dark it almost reads as black from a distance, and he’s snatched in the waist with a gold chain. His hat is what I can only describe as musketeery, though slightly less floofy and without a giant feather. More rogue than king’s soldier-y.

Above and beyond loving this look in its own right for Namjoon, I will always treasure it for giving us 90s spoken word open mic nemeses/girlfriends Namgi.
Namgi on set at one of the early school-based MVs/photoshoots. Yoongi, with a dark cherry bowl cut and a honkin’ big fleur de lis pendant over a rumpled school uniform, is spinning a basketball on his pointer finger and biting his lip cockily. Namjoon, in full blonde pompadour-and-undercut era, is also in a dismantled blazer/white button-down uniform, also has his pointer finger aloft and is probably aiming for “smoldering” but hasn’t quite gotten there yet. I cannot overstate the amount of eyeliner in this photo. They both look like girls I would have crushed on HARD at a party thrown by the literary magazine poetry editor at university. Too bad for me they’re going to be caught making out in the kitchen after having a screaming fight over Tori Amos albums in the living room.
