New preprint!!! we push tubal tensor algebra to infinite-dimensional tubes, build a quasitubal C*-algebra that supports matrix-mimetic (quasitubal tensor) SVD and Eckart–Young-like optimality. Matrix tricks, now for separable Hilbert spaces. arxiv.org/abs/2504.16231

Quasitubal Tensor Algebra Over Separable Hilbert Spaces
The tubal tensor framework provides a clean and effective algebraic setting for tensor computations, supporting matrix-mimetic features like Singular Value Decomposition and Eckart-Young-like optimali...

Now for the important part: where can I find a decent coffee in Heidelberg???

#mathsky I you know. And you know that I know you know.

Underappreciated?! Not in the social circles I am in... we are highly inclusive in case you are thinking about hanging out with us:)
You would have to be able to tell Sherman-Morrison apart from Woodbury formula though... (a line must be drawn somewhere)
I wanted to make my first post about a project close to my heart. Linear algebra is an underappreciated foundation for machine learning. Our new framework CoLA (Compositional Linear Algebra) exploits algebraic structure arising from modelling assumptions for significant computational savings! 1/4

#physics feed to the rescue?
Hey #mathsky - can anyone recommend a good intro for quantum field theory? I stumbled on it (at least by title) too frequently while working on seemingly unrelated project so now I'm worried that the two subjects have a trivial connection between them, that you all knew but no one ever told me about

Never imagined something like this could happen: I defined an object I'm interested in as the dual module to something, and it felt surprisingly... right.

Hey!
My name is Uria, and I'm a PhD candidate in applied mathematics.
My main interest is in tensor methods, randomized linear algebra, FDA and their applications.
I promise to share any exiting new results I have, looking forward to learn about yours :)
