Reflecting on Six Years of Urban Monasticism

I'm not sure what it means that the very first meeting of Urban Monastics occurred on the same day that the first case of Covid was identified in Wuhan. I do know that it dramatically shifted what we have become in scale and hope that I would not have believed 7 years ago. For that I am grateful.
6 years today the first COVID case was identified in a man in Wuhan marking the beginning of a global pandemic that changed the world. We are way less prepared today to face another pandemic than we were back then. This fact makes me sad.

You may have noticed that this day is not actually on our liturgical calendar. We have Martin Luther on February 18th!

It is not on our calendar because the only other events to make it are ones that took place in the bible (Christmas, Easter, Transfiguration, etc).
