I wonder if there is a certain type of person characterized by a deficiency in mirror neurons.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Let’s bring a version of this to all the houses?
Illinois becomes one of the few states to regulate employer use of AI. House Bill 3773 amends the Illinois Human Rights Act to make it a civil rights violation for employers to use AI tools that result in discrimination based on race, gender, age, or disability.

Colonization comes to the colonizer?
My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.

Relational work—healthcare work, any cognitive work of teams, etc—likewise requires establishing and negotiating shared context.

Reliance on LLMs seems to announce “I’m done learning” and “Your context doesn’t matter.” Why be so disinterested in other people and the world?
I think the shortest version of why LLMs are an anti education technology is that education is fundamentally about making shared context to understand ourselves, each other, and the world

And by design LLMs destroy shared context

Approximately 120,000 health professions trainees receive clinical training at VA each year.

Veterans Administration and VA hospitals matter to Veterans and non-Veterans alike.

Ask your health professional about VA.

Do they think VA should be privatized?
