ONE parent. And in Florida, ONE man is responsible for 40% of all book challenges in the state. The book banners are a tiny minority. Make that clear by speaking up in favor of the freedom to read. (Email your school board!)
Thanks to @aclusc.bsky.social and @authorsabb.bsky.social working in SC to fight bans. The challenges have been brought by 1 parent who earlier filed 97 challenges in Beaufort County, nearly all of them denied. She's re-challenging now that a state law passed in July 2024 makes banning easy.

I think every person who shills trad wife content should watch two-three episodes of the PBS Show “Frontier House” and report back because SAME.
if i lived in the 1800s and making dinner meant spending every waking hour baking bread and plucking a chicken or whatever and then my husband sat down and said "let's thank god for this meal" i think i'd poison him

it's been said before but it's wild that these guys have more money and power than anyone on earth and still have unshakeable loser energy. none of them would survive the cafeteria of a public high school. give me a five-minute phone call with j.d. and i could make him cry

I hope the protesters are okay.
Fox News reported that JD Vance had to move to an “undisclosed location” due to protests at the Vermont resort where he’s skiing this weekend. For inflicting misery on the world and here at home in America, this is exactly the energy that should greet Vance wherever he goes for the rest of his days.

I’ve said this before and I will probably say it again, but we forget so easily that everyone from history we look back on as the face of some movement had something else they wanted to do with their lives. I think every day about the fact that all Fred Hampton wanted was to play for the Yankees.
You had different dreams for yourself than having to meet this shit historical moment.

I did too. I did too.

This is also a VERY useful stat sheet for calls tomorrow reminding your members of Congress how many voters they just voted to fuck over in favor of billionaires.
If you're looking for details for your calls, House Dems produced this tool where you can how many people in your district are at risk of losing jobs, health care, and food on the table from the House GOP budget.

"For the sake of the X people in CA-54 who will lose their Medicaid, please vote no."

Dear DNC, DSCC, and DCCC:

I don't want to see another fundraising text or email asking for a dollar of mine until I see an actual plan to meet this moment.

Y'all had 11 weeks between the election and inauguration, and there's still no plan. There's no excuse for that.

No plan, no donation.

This is great to see. Thank you Congressmen Beyer, Raskin, Connolly and Olzewski and Senator Van Hollen!

Would be even better is MSNBC was covering it live, as they have live shots right now on air in the White House and Congress but not here.
People have gathered outside USAID HQ for press event with Democratic Congressmen Beyer, Raskin, Connolly and Olzewski and Senator Van Hollen where they're addressing the building's mysterious shutdown today in the midst of the Trump admin dismantling the agency.
