Very bright people. Take more couples out of the pool of people who have the ability to foster/adopt children. Children currently stuck in a flailing bureaucratic nightmare of a system that these pearl-clutching conservatives both vote towards defunding and... AND... refuse to adopt themselves

I'm old enough to know Maher hasn't been "tolerable" in 30+ years. He was known as a shitheel in his "Politically Incorrect" era like he is today, just maybe a bit more neutered back then because of having to broadcast on ABC (with advertisers controlling the pursestrings)
