👫🟰EQUAL PAY DAY

In this day and age it is utterly wrong that women are still paid less than their male colleagues.

If the government is serious about boosting productivity and driving economic growth, it must address and implement @unitetheunion.bsky.social's demands. 1/2 ⤵️

🤔 Why are your bills going up again?
Ofgem today announced another rise on the energy cap.
🚀 Bills are rocketing as temperatures plunge.
💰 Energy companies made £30bn in profits. The average UK houseold paid £500 of your bill straight to the profits of these companies

⚡️ ENERGY PRICE CAP

There is no comfort in today’s announcement for the millions of people struggling to heat their homes this winter.

@unitetheunion.bsky.social has shown that £500 of every energy bill goes straight to energy company profits. #PublicOwnership 1/2 ⤵️

📢 BIRMINGHAM BINS

Residents take action in Shabana Mahmood's constituency 📸🪧

Government ministers and @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social councillors need to step in and ensure a fair deal for all Birmingham bin workers – which is the only way strikes will come to an end! #Birmingham #Bins

👆INFLATION FIGURES

Today’s figures will bring no comfort to the millions of families having to choose between heating and eating this winter. Food prices are going through the roof, with many essentials now costing a quarter more than they did three years ago and still rising. 1/2

✊ It started with @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social taking £8k from WRCO workers, then they took £8k from drivers, now agency workers are being bullied & overworked & are joining the strike.
😡 Birmingham Council should stop this mess & negotiate now!

This is appalling behaviour from a billion-pound company currently making record profits. @unitetheunion.bsky.social will not stand for such greed and our members will now be bringing BAE to its knees between now and Christmas.
More BAE Systems strikes planned in Samlesbury and Warton
BAE Systems lost a High Court bid earlier this month to prevent workers from taking strike action.

Disabled workers already have enough challenges to deal with, without also being discriminated against by employers on pay. Average underpayment per year of £4000 is disgraceful, 49 days of employers effectively getting them to work for free. 1/2

This is yet another example of outrageous profiteering by energy companies. The National Grid should be publicly owned to reduce #energy costs for the public and businesses alike. Read @unitetheunion.bsky.social 's energy report ➡️ shorturl.at/XJO5A

🥳 Good news (if you are an energy CEO) National Grid profits rose15% to £1.65 billion for the half year to Sep 30.
😥 Not so good news if you are a consumer. Energy companies made £30 bn profits last year. That is £500 on every household bill going to dividends, shares buybacks & bonuses for CEOs 💰
