The Cat Basket is still lined with books.
Today I am experimenting with homemade “chocolate croissants” that use Nutella and ready-made puff pastry. Inital output looks promising:

Went with pan frying (over baking) so it would be easier to keep an eye on them. Not the most visually appealing things - I keep expecting them to change colour like beef! Possibly due to expectations linked to shape.

Documenting the chicken-thing as I experiment…
Minced chicken, herbs, parmesan all mixed together. Next step: roll out between clingfilm and use the pastry cutter to create “patties”. These will be cooked, cooled, and used to fill rolls for my packed lunches. Hopefully.

Just finished weaving in the ends on my Boswellia! Two months elapsed time, and it still needs blocking before it’s properly done, but yay!

Harvested my beetroot this morning. Some grew rather better than others…

I let one of my garlics flower. It’s a very muted allium to human eyes, but every time I’ve looked at it there’s at least one bee on it somewhere. This morning, I saw two.

Nems getting scritches

Forgive the terrible framing and issues with focal length, but here’s an unusual shot of both cats settled down snoozing near each other! They’re usually in different rooms, or at opposite ends of the same room at best.

Managed to get motivated & organised enough to take a progress shot of my Boswellia!

The yellow loop on the right hand side of this shot is my round marker. Moving along to the left, you can see two correctly aligned diamonds, and the third is misaligned. So now I’m unpicking 14 repeats…

Here’s where I left my Boswellia last night. My inly plan for today was to try and reach the end of the colourwork yoke.

Productive morning hurrah! One laundry load hung up to dry, second load running. Cat hairball located and cleaned up. Bed changed. Dishwasher unloaded.

Y’day was pretty good too - kitty litter changed and felted top successfully rehomed.

I’m on holiday this week, a staycation. Today I’m comfortably ensconced in a chair, working on a new project, enjoying this view, and feeling quite lucky.

Possibly due to the sun through the window, Nems has retreated to the top section of the re-purposed laundry basket. I can hear her cleaning herself. Earlier, I could hear her kitty-snores. 🥰

This has been surprisingly relaxing! Plenty of time for it to go horribly wrong, but for now I’m v pleased with it.

Prepping to ball the yarn for my next top. Some glorious greys from @isasaxonists.bsky.social / republicofyarnia.com

Off the needles and onto the blocking mats! I reckon that ended up in the 35-40 hours of knitting in the end, but I did rather lose track for a while.

Actually remembered to take a shot of the Malabrigo Metamorphosis sock yarn top yesterday. This is approx 21 hours of work.

Current #wip at about 9 hours of work.

Tracking my current WIP and how much time I spend on the project, here’s a shot at about 2 hours of work.
