Known as the worst day in the history of the Kenyan military, Al Shabab militants attacked Kenyan troops at their base in the town of El Adde, where they were serving as peacekeepers. Between 100-200 soldiers died. Abdullahi, a member of the Kenyan 9 rifles battalion, was presumed killed in action.
