When someone asks, "what would Jesus do?" it's important to remember that flipping tables and calling out the elites for their cruelty, hypocrisy, and tyranny is a valid answer.

There is nothing Christlike supporting parties, people, or policies that actively harm democracy, the marginalized, families, or a world for future generations. Flip those tables and stand against the unjust! #resist
How much do we love the children? Do we love them more than our pride? More than worshipping at the altar of guns and money? If we, especially those who profess Christ, can't answer yes then we have failed indeed.

We cannot offer our heart while keeping it sealed. There must be meaningful action.
13 years after Sandy Hook, approximately 550 children have been shot and killed in our schools(K-12). America has become a country where it is free to own assault rifles, but a place where we allow gunman to massacre our children. Another example of the incompetence of the politicians in government.

To be clear: rejoicing in the suffering and pain of another is anti-Christ.

Matthew 25, friends.

It's not too late to sincerely change your heart and seek to love and serve the oppressed and to stand against injustice and cruelty.

Jesus wouldn't be sitting at a table in a ballroom. He'd be flipping it.

No matter how hard people try to convince us having empathy is wrong,

it is right.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

it is a strength.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

it is unlimited.

If Jesus said his disciples would be known by their love for others, then when we claim to follow him but we are known for our bullying, our mockery, our callousness, and our contempt for others, we are actively taking his name in vain.

Love must be our reputation.

"But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is their god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also." 2 Nephi 9:30

"Do not say that I have spoken hard things against you; for if ye do, ye will revile against the truth; for I have spoken the words of your Maker. I know that the words of truth are hard against all uncleanness; but the righteous fear them not, for they love the truth and are not shaken."2Nephi 9:40

If you live in these states, your ACA premiums are about to jump:

LA - Up 150%
WV - Up 387%
WY - Up 382%
TN - Up 320%
MS - Up 314%
AK - Up 346%

Republicans are fighting to make sure this happens to their own constituents.

Our words carry weight to them and, unfortunately, words can be a precursor to violence. Too many people try to absolve themselves of responsibility by saying it's "just words".

I wrote a shorter article exploring this. Please check it out!

I don't think MAGA realizes how bad Trump's EO is.

Too many "Christians" want to be Law of Moses Christians and not Sermon on the Mount Christians.

Please, come back to the real Christ. The one who upset the established ruling elites, religious and secular, by inviting others to live a higher law.

It breaks my heart that "the scriptures are laid before thee", yet so many professed followers of Jesus Christ will not simply compare what they hear and read to what the Savior taught. Are they willfully ignorant? Too trusting? I don't know, but I do know we must encourage them to "seek this Jesus"

To attack empathy is to attack the charge to love our neighbor as ourselves.

To vilify empathy is to vilify our covenant to "mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort".

It is unfortunate that so many Christians believe that Charlie Kirk - who gave voice to contention, hate, cruelty, and inequality - spoke righteousness.

This is not so.

I encourage you to read my post about recognizing false priests and teachers.

In light of Charlie Kirk's death, I hope this post might help others find the balance of correcting hateful discourse and having charity.

"One of the easiest ways to identify a true follower of Jesus Christ is how compassionately that person treats other people. [...]His true disciples build, lift, encourage, persuade, and inspire—no matter how difficult the situation. True disciples of Jesus Christ are peacemakers." President Nelson

Charlie Kirk has advocated for beliefs and systems in conflict with the teachings of Jesus. He has given voice to cruelty & hate.

I am deeply grieved he was shot.

We can oppose harmful ideologies AND still have charity for those who perpetuate them.

Disciples of Christ need not seek out violence.

Not changing, or trying to change, in accordance with truth is a lack of intellectual integrity.

Claiming absolute truth doesn't exist at all is a sign of willful ignorance.

Shades of gray and nuance exist, but context is vital.

Truth is eternal.

We MUST have charity.

We cannot take joy in the suffering of another.

We cannot take joy in the death of anyone or delight in bloodshed.

No matter what cruelty or evil comes from their actions. We must not rejoice in their suffering and death.

"If I am worth anything later, I am worth something now. For wheat is wheat, even if people think it is a grass in the beginning."- Vincent van Gogh

You are of divine heritage and worth. Remember it, no matter how hard the world tries to convince you otherwise. Embrace the good in yourself & others

“Thoughts and prayers.”

“There is something deeply hypocritical about praying for a problem you are unwilling to resolve.” -Miroslav Volf

As more children lay dead at the feet of America's altar of guns and the people in power cry out for thoughts and prayers, I remind you, "Many prayers remain unanswered because they are not in Christ’s name at all; they in no way represent His mind but spring out of the selfishness of man’s heart."
