When I finished my clerkship, I handmade a frame for my judge with a photo of our chambers because the small gift I’d hoped to give him relevant to a mutual extracurricular interest would have violated the canons of judicial ethics, but a foreign power can give the President a plane?
I’ve literally had to uninvite members of Congress from a Happy Hour with an open bar in order to comply with Congressional ethics rules — meanwhile the Qataris are just gifting a whole plane to the motherfucking President.
