I’ve never seen Ippo but this kind of vibe is part of why the dark tournament in yuyu hakusho rules. Outside of a couple opponents mostly everybody is just a cool dude who likes punching other cool dudes

I was a bit intrigued a while ago because there are a bunch of goofy looking woodcuts from the Middle Ages and that seemed like a fun style to mess with, but then I saw Albrecht Dürer and just about shit my pants but got super inspired. I mean look at this shit, this is a woodblock print!!!!
