Feels like someone internal jumped the gun, fed the storyboard into GenAI and like "We don't need those agencies!"

But really, the concept could work still, just tweak the message, that with ALL the pain that comes with it, Christmas is STILL the most season of the year.
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Evolution is amazing. Love the kingfisher and whale inspirations.
An engineer wanted to make a quiet high-speed train. “The question then occurred to me — is there some living thing that manages sudden changes in air resistance as a part of daily life?” The answer: the kingfisher. See my story today for more tales of bioinspiration. Gift link: nyti.ms/4otNQyl

Apparently the price of #labubu has stabilized after #popmart switched to app-based sales - now everyone can buy them at a decent price so long as they are wiling to wait for backorders to be fulfilled. Maybe #pokemon sellers should do this to stop them scalpers?

It’s scary the number of planetary bad news isn’t starting worldwide fear of survival in the coming decades. That’s scarier.

It’s odd how our association of a state or being with colors changes so much in context. US calls republican and democrat states red/blue states. That’s kinda a shock as we also associate to communistic political parties with the color red.

Am I the only one thinking that all this #vibecoding and #AI will lead into the boom in human code optimizers and raise in value in human-created art/creative

2024 was the hottest year ever recorded, 2025 is expected to record crazy temps as well. Wildfires rages on, cold snaps settling in. We need to work harder and smarter to make a positive impact.

Still don’t believe climate change is real?
As climate changes, wildfires across western NAm are getting bigger and a lot faster: and faster fires are much more dangerous and destructive.

The conditions @afreedma.bsky.social describes below are becoming less and less rare as climate change loads the weather dice against us.
LA's wildfires sparked by rare collision of climate factors
Extremely dry conditions and an hurricane force winds are overlapping unusually late in the year.

So if inflation means a sum yesterday is worth more than today, e.g. $10 say 50 years ago is worth $15 today, so why aren't the stuff we bought today, increase in value with inflation, if there's no issue of wear and tear? Or am I nuts?

100% but convincing companies to do so is no cakewalk.
Climate Change:

It's real.

It's us.

It's serious - and already dangerous.

But there are solutions.

The science is clear: the faster we cut emissions, the less suffering we will cause, and the better off we'll all be.

Sounds like a bit of good news overshadowed by increase in fossil fuel consumption. Why aren’t those international agreements from COP working?
📢Global Carbon Budget 2024📢

Despite some predicting a peak in global fossil CO2 emissions, we estimate growth of 0.8% [-0.3% to 1.9%] in 2024. Maybe a peak next year?

Is it all bad news, or can we find some good news?
