This is to say. I think there's specific value in having things like girlguiding, and making everything open to all genders isn't always the best answer, but excluding trans girls is definitely absolutely the worst answer. (4/4)

And maybe some groups are wildly reinforcing gender norms, but navigating structural, gendered expectations is fucking hard as a kid, and having a place where girls (all girls! including trans girls!) aren't competing for space and attention with boys can be really nice for some kids. (3/4)

I'm sure it varies wildly group to group but I have always very intentionally run a space where girls (all girls! including trans girls!) can be messy and chaotic and noisy, specifically because it's sometimes more difficult for them to have them in mixed spaces. (2/4)
