When the route reopens, we don't expect the queues that were seen at its opening in 2013, but it'll be good to see Devonshire Tunnel back in use and more resilient.

Once the cutting was filled, the view from a similar position was less inspiring.

Flooding at that point was in evidence shortly after the line closed. This photo most likely dates to winter 1966-7.

Another photo from Maple Grove Bridge, but from today, January 29th. Though the weather was clear, it was tipping it down. Thankfully not water though.
