I think there's an easy contrast with Griffey, who undoubtedly is a family-first guy, too.

A big difference, though, is that Griffey really struggled with the expectations early on, before his MLB career took off, and he was well-connected to players and history once he got himself right.

So on the one hand, I feel kind of bad for him, but it's also hard to feel bad for a guy who was offered and took the contract with the Rangers.

I also fooled around with some Japan uniforms to combine Yomiuri Giants concepts with Japan's first WBC victory unis, some Korea kits that had sort of a 80s Royals vibe, Canada jerseys that borrowed the Blue Jays' split text, and Puerto Rico unis inspired by the Pirates as a Clemente shout out.

I think a three-letter monogram looks a little better if it's more modern, but I really wanted to keep the look very 1920s where it was reasonable to do so, and this feels kind of "Turn Ahead The Clock"

I made these like, 10 years ago, I'd probably do something new or different with them now to some extent. I did always find it difficult to interlock all three of a U-S-and-A. Could just go with a single white star on a navy cap, though, that might look nice.
